Leadership Transition

We’d like to bring you up to date with transitions in the Increase Association.

Tim Green is stepping down as General Secretary in March 2021

Over the past two years, the Increase Association has been planning for leadership transition.
Tim Green has been Increase General Secretary since the position was formally established in 2015.
But for some time now he’s felt a growing call to give his full attention to serving with the growing worldwide movement of Muslim background believers. So the Increase Committee has been planning that Tim will step down from his position as General Secretary in March, 2021.

Much thought and prayer has gone into consideration of the structures and the people to help lead Increase forward. We’re very grateful to God for the ways that he has led us, together, over this time.

Graham Aylett is now General Secretary elect

grahamBack in March this year, Graham Aylett was appointed as Associate General Secretary, to take on the role of General Secretary in March 2021. Graham has now been given the new title of General Secretary elect, and he’s started to lead the Executive Team. He’s gradually taking on more responsibilities from Tim, who will continue alongside until the final handover in March next year.

A new Executive Team is forming - with an Operations Manager, and two Coordinators

Alongside Graham, a team of people will lead the Increase Association:

  • An Operations Manager to oversee the Increase Serving Base in Malaysia. Rev Aaron Tham is filling this role.

Two more part-time positions have been approved by the Increase Committee to complete the Team:

  • A Partnerships’ Coordinator to help build and develop strategic partnerships outside the Increase Association. Lyn Pearson has agreed to fill this position.
  • An Equippers’ Coordinator, to serve and enable the Increase Equippers’ Team. We are searching for the right person to take on this new role.

Rev Aaron Tham is our Operational Manager

aaronWe sensed God ’s hand in the appointment of our new Operational Manager Aaron Tham. Aaron has a passion for evangelism and discipleship and has been involved with Alpha for years. He's been pastor of Petaling Jaya Evangelical Free Church for 20 years and he brings valuable experience to Increase. He is married to Constance and they have three adult children: Selina, Daniel and David.

Aaron became involved in TEE Malaysia in 2017 when the team was looking into translating Abundant Light. Aaron had been involved in Faith Comes By Hearing an organisation that makes audio Bibles available for oral cultures all over the world and brought that experience to the team.

Aaron experienced the dynamics of TEE first hand when he went through the Life of Christ series as a student himself. A very valuable experience! He also became involved in group leader training in Malaysia. He started working as Operational Manager in August and has made a great start!

Rev Dr Lyn Pearson is our new Partnerships’ Coordinator

lynWe are delighted to announce that Rev Dr Lyn Pearson has agreed to take the role of Partnerships’ Coordinator! She has accepted the role for a limited period of one year, and began on September 29.

Lyn is Australian-born Chinese and is a partner with Interserve. She has a passion for wholistic discipleship and helped start a TEE programme in Central Asia. She has been serving on the Interserve International Leadership team for the last ten years, with a particular focus on the South Pacific and Southeast Asia. She’s been especially involved in supporting TEE in these regions.

Lyn is well-known to us in Increase, as she’s been an Increase Equipper since 2015, and, with Graham, helping to coordinate the Equippers Team since 2018. She was elected as a member of the Increase Committee at the November 2017 Conference in Chiang Mai.

Please pray
Please pray for Lyn, Aaron, Graham and Tim, and for the Lord’s leading as we look for someone for the position of Equippers’ Coordinator.
